Purpose behind the play
More than activities.
A plan for growth.
STARBASE is our flexible out-of-school time curriculum. It combines movement, team games, creative projects, and guided choice to help every child build skills, confidence, and connection.

The STARBASE Playbook
Structure that still leaves room to shine.
Children need consistency, but they also need room to explore. STARBASE gives our teams a clear plan for each day while allowing activities to be adapted to the ages, interests, abilities, and energy of each group.
Every activity has a reason. A game may strengthen coordination, a building challenge may encourage problem-solving, and a group project may become a lesson in teamwork or resilience.
What the name means
Four kinds of play. Four foundations for growth.
What children do
Sports Skills, Team Games, Arts & Crafts, and Ready-to-Go activities with minimal setup and maximum engagement.
What children build
Belonging, Autonomy and Agency, Skills, and Experiences that support growth far beyond the program day.
A balanced experience
Different ways to learn, connect, and grow.
Our rotations give children multiple ways to participate, so the child who loves running, the child who loves creating, and the child who needs time to warm up can all find a place to succeed.

Ready-to-Go Play
A thoughtful daily rhythm
From the final bell to pickup.
Our after-school experience balances decompression, responsibility, structured enrichment, and guided choice. The exact schedule is tailored to each school community.
Arrive & Reset
Attendance, snack, homework support, and a calm transition out of the school day.
Rotate & Explore
Planned sports, games, and creative activities in age-appropriate groups.
Choose & Connect
Guided choices, continued projects, and activity level-ups as families arrive.
Finish Strong
A positive closing moment that recognizes effort, growth, and good choices.
How we teach
Simple, active, positive, and adaptable.
Show, then do
Short explanations and clear demonstrations get children playing quickly.
Start simple
Activities begin with an achievable goal, then grow through planned level-ups.
Adapt the challenge
Coaches simplify, modify, or extend activities for the group in front of them.
Keep kids moving
Small groups, quick transitions, and limited waiting create more opportunities to participate.
Notice the good
Specific praise reinforces effort, kindness, courage, teamwork, and responsible choices.
Connect the lesson
Coaches use teachable moments to connect play with skills children use in everyday life.
Growth beyond the game
Life skills belong in every rotation.
Winning a game is never the only goal. Children practice the habits that help them become confident teammates, creative problem-solvers, and thoughtful members of their communities.
Safety supports learning
Prepared spaces. Clear routines. Attentive adults.
Children can explore more confidently when they know what to expect. Our teams use consistent attendance practices, active supervision, planned transitions, hydration breaks, equipment checks, and clear positive expectations throughout the program day.
